California Transparency in Supply Chain Act
At Rise Baking Company, we believe doing business the right way means acting ethically, legally, and sustainably. We understand our suppliers are essential to helping us deliver high-quality products, while upholding strong social and environmental values.
We ask our suppliers to share our commitment to responsible business practices. This includes complying with all applicable laws and regulations in the countries where they operate and conducting their business with integrity and professionalism.
A key part of our shared responsibility is ensuring that our supply chains are free from forced labor, including human trafficking and slavery. To support this, we may ask suppliers to confirm compliance with relevant laws through written certifications or statements. We also conduct periodic on-site and desk audits, using a risk-based approach to assess food safety and quality standards along with observing on-site ethical practices and culture.
We encourage suppliers to enter into formal agreements with Rise Baking Company. These agreements outline expectations around legal compliance, including labor practices, and help ensure transparency and accountability.
We also invest in training our team members who manage supply chain relationships, so they can better support our shared goals. This includes webinars and other learning opportunities.
Rise Baking Company is committed to fair labor practices and to working with suppliers who share our values. Our manufacturing facilities meet our customers’ social compliance requirements by completing SMETA audits. We maintain internal accountability systems and provide ethics and compliance training to our employees and leadership to uphold our standards.
We value our supplier partnerships and will continue working together to build a responsible and sustainable supply chain.
